Sachin 's journey to 17,000 runs

Milestone: 1000 runs on March 7, 1992

Age: 18

Match: India vs Zimbabwe at Hamilton, New Zealand

At his 36th one-day match, 18-year-old Sachin scored his first thousand runs. Sachin scored 81 runs off 77 balls. India went on to win the match by 55 runs.
Age: 20

Match: India vs UAE at Sharjah, UAE

Playing his 73rd one-day match Sachin completed his 2000 runs. He scored 63 runs off 77 balls and helped India win the match by 71 runs.

Age: 21

Match: India vs Sri Lanka at Sharjah, UAE

At his 96th one-day match, Sachin scored 112 runs off 107 balls and remained not out as India won the match by 8 wickets.

Match: India vs South Africa at Sharjah, UAE

Sachin, playing his 115th one-day match, scored 17 runs off 26 balls. India lost the match by 5 wickets.
